Mobile Chargers Tricks

Many times this happens that you charge your phone with some other brands mobile charger and the charging goes slow. That means the charger supports the same brand's charger only. Now have you ever thought of this feature? How this happened? how these mobile phones get to know about the other chargers existence?

The point is very simple. Every charger takes out only 5 V. But this feature of detection is dominated by the middle two data lines of a USB connector. 

A universal charger available in the market has these points shorted and floated. that means these points have no voltage. whereas every mobile phone charger specifies a set of the voltage value at D+ and D- pins of a USB connector.

Like some may define that if the voltage at these points is 2.5V then it will show fast charging. Every mobile phone has its own specification for these values.

To give these values to a mobile phone, mobile charger manufactures use voltage dividers at the charger point. Now chips also available in the market which is adaptive in nature means they can change the value for these points to suit the mobile phone which results in fast charging.
