Transformer less power supply

Many times it happens that if our circuit is small enough then the power source is also needed of small value.
And many times we need to pack our circuit in a small box.
In these circumstances, we can neither use the linear power source Nor the switch mode power source.
Today's circuit is a power source that will solve the above problem.
And because there is no transformer in it, it can fit in any small size.

As you know that it is a transformerless power supply.
The work that transformers do to lower the AC voltage is here done by a capacitor.
The capacitor C6 reduces the value of the AC voltage and four further diodes act as a rectifier.
Then the capacitor C1 is used as a filter and gives us smooth DC.
D6 is a Zener diode and it works as a regulator. The regulator regulated the voltage to 5 volts and gives it to the load.
The above circuit is capable of providing a maximum of 80 mA.
And yes, it is connected directly to AC because there is no transformer in it So take safety precautions while working with it.
The author has tested the above circuit for 5 volts and 80mA and found satisfactory results.
You can change the voltage by changing the value of zener diode.
